Pillar Groups

We need the support of each other if we are to grow in the faith. Encouragement and support are provided through a variety of groups. We encourage others to develop their gifts, take responsibility for their spiritual lives, and depend on the Spirit.

Men’s Group: The Men’s Group meets to grow in faith, have fun, form friendships, and raise funds for men activities and youth. The men’s group hosts a fish fry, hog roast, and summer fish day. Meeting times are the last Thursday of each month.

The Men’s Group Leader serves the church by developing, coordinating, and administering an effective ministry to meet the needs of men of the church. Leaders mentor and help disciple men of the church, helping them to grow spiritually. This may include Bible studies, prayer breakfasts, lunch, conferences, service projects, and trips.  For more information, contact Art Kuechle (764-9092), George Ruhland (453-3695), P.J. Connors (453-8082), or Ron Ruhland (453-2221).

Christian Women: The Christian Women promote the upbringing of children as useful members of society, ensuring their earthly and eternal welfare (Confraternity of Christian Mothers). Meeting times are twice per year. The Christian Women recognize the couples married 50 years or more and have a bake sale in the spring to raise funds for pro-life activities.

The Christian Women Officers serve the church by developing, coordinating, and administering an effective ministry to meet the needs of women of the church and promote the upbringing of children as useful members of society. Officers mentor and help disciple women of the church, helping them to grow spiritually. This may include Bible studies, luncheons, speakers, conferences, service projects, and trips. For more information, contact Gail Ruhland (453-2589), Molly Zimmerman (243-7789), Cindy Tomsche (453-5968), or Jenny Evens (597-4779).

Newlyweds: The newlywed group builds the foundation and sets the stage for a meaningful and beautiful journey as husband and wife. Couples married in the past 5 years are considered “newlyweds.” Engaged couples are also invited to events.  Newlyweds are provided a mentor couple and opportunities to connect with other Catholic newlywed couples. Meeting times are quarterly, day depends on the activity planned.

Newlywed Group Leaders serve the church by developing, coordinating, and administering an effective ministry to meet the needs of newlyweds of the church. Leaders provide confidential support to newlywed couples, meet with couples 6 months after their wedding, wish them congratulations for 1 year anniversary, organize other opportunities as the group expresses interest. This may include meals, bonfires, game nights, date nights, tubing, volleyball, boating, camping, biking, or shooting trap. For more information, contact Travis and Liz Schlangen, 250-9177 or lizlilsis@yahoo.com.

Legion of Mary: The Legion of Mary works to end spiritual hunger, which is widespread and more serious that physical hunger.  The members of the Legion of Mary work to become a holier people, submit themselves to the Holy Spirit, do great things for God, see Christ in others, and bring many graces into our parish.

Legion of Mary Leaders serve the church by fostering spiritual growth of members and children.   For more information, contact Molly Zimmerman (243-7789).

Parish Guild: Some activities require the work of a significant number of people; the Guild includes all parishioners. The Guild is organized into twelve guild groups. The Guild is responsible for serving meals at funerals, cleaning the church, serving monthly coffee and rolls, and raising funds for pastoral activities.

Guild Officers serve the church by communicating the needs to the guild groups and overseeing the work done by the guild groups.
